Rent Me……& Join the ‘Lambros’

zzz-8956Have you ever wanted to see exactly what that car on the poster in your high school bedroom felt like to drive? How about what the RACE CAR version might feel like?LamboChase

How cool was that movie – “Cannon Ball Run”? WHO could forget that opening scene with the Countach being chased by the police?

Or in the 2nd movie when they were doing donuts and washing the white paint off of the red car?LamboSquirt

What if you could experience that now? What if that experience could benefit kids in need? Kids that are caught in the system and suffering in a tremendous way as a result.

Well – now is your chance to, “…crush some laps in a lambo…” – Dan B.

Picture 5Thru the largess of donor & racing friend Bryn Owen, Guardian Angel Motorsports has been given the use of this 2013 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Gallardo to raise money for these children.  A large portion of your rental fee to race or simply drive this car at speed for a day goes towards the support of kids in need.   The rental engagement will be an arrive and
drive outing with tires, fuel, transport, crew and insurance included.  You only need to bring your helmet & driving gear.  Bryn is running a 488 GTB in Ferrari Challenge this year with Miller Motor Cars.  Kash

In the past 8 years, we’ve donated over $425,000 to children and their families that are suffering immediate health, safety and severe quality of life issues.   We want to use this tool to double that number.

If you want to check some boxes on TWO very substantial items in life, please email me. We will work to get you on track in this magnificent car and help you ‘earn your wings’ as a Guardian Angel Motorsports donor by joining, “The Lambros Club”.

15 Years Ago Today….

15 Years Ago Today….

September 11, 2001 World Trade Center Ground Zero

– Our lives were permanently changed.   Just like Pearl Harbor, Kennedy’s assassination and the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy, we all remember exactly where we were at 8:04am on September 11, 2001.

This picture so perfectly embodies the struggle we as a people have endured since.   The struggle has come at a mind-blowing expense both monetarily and to our neighbors that volunteer to go and fight the fight. These are the men & women that drop everything, work, family & economics to make your/mine/our day to day lives possible.  They return suffering massive injuries both visible and not immediately visible.  I think we fail to give them the support and open arms they are due.  In fact, current statistics show that 22 veterans commit suicide each day, that’s one every 65 minutes.

It’s safe to say, we could do so much more for them in return.

We found a guy doing just that, he is the bomb.com.    His name is Jeff Archambault and he runs an organization call Race Cars For A Cause.  They give race car rides to vets.  BUT – that description doesn’t do it justice.  1463411617 [Read more…]

The Ring – Is Car Guy Heaven

The Ring – Is Car Guy Heaven
The VLN series combines the GP track with the Nordschliefe.  You merge onto the GP front straight as you

Car Guy Heaven

conclude your Nordschliefe lap and proceed to complete the circuit.   As you finish the lap, instead of hooking right and back on to the front straight, you break left up onto T13 and DROP into the Nordeschliefe.

It’s an amazing experience that I’ll struggle to explain.   First let me get the entire environment into context.

The Ring – its car guy heaven.  Not just the track, but the entire region,   Just  140 km from Frankfurt, it’s a fun a beautiful 80 minute haul from the airport.   You quickly learn that the 5 Hash signs mean that the speed limit is unlimited.  Our diesel Mercedes 350 CSL loafed along silently at 260kph (160mph) like it was a trip to the grocery store,   Freaking Awesome.

Driving Shoes & Chips!!

Driving Shoes & Chips!!

As you blast thru the historical heart of Germany (Koblenz) you cant help but to be stunned by the beauty of the region.   Closer to little town of Nurburg, the rolling hills are simply gorgeous with miles upon miles of tilled fields and roaming live stock.   It’s the kind of thing where you’d expect to see someone in Lederhosin blowing into a big horn then yelling Rrrrrriiiiiiicccccccooooooola!
Upon entering Nurburg from the 48 your first sight is the ED Gas station.   The only station in town and the place where the race cars pull in to fill up….and there are racing gloves and shoes next to the potato chip display.   It’s the craziest thing – to see all out race cars rolling on the street.    From the parking lot of the ED, you can see the Audi Bridge on the Dottinger straight and hear the cars RIP past at over 160 mph.

In fact, every car enthusiast, every factory, every make, model, interpretation on that model seems to be in town.   That’s just it.   Our hotel parking lot has the new Mercedes AMG SLS in camo wrap in it.   We walk in to breakfast and are greeted by famous ring taxi driver and ‘Queen of The Ring’ Sabine Schmidt.  The parking lot at the next

hotel has a Jag F Type in camouflage parked in the basement.   The place abounds with test drivers, support teams and the best of all, “Nurburgring Test Centers” for each manufacturer at every turn.   It’s TRULY a car guy Mecca.  The holy grail wrapped in a small town feel.   Simply breath taking.

Where does it get crazy? t13

You approach the exit of the GP track and onto the Nordeschliefe at just over 100 mph in fourth gear. Our car was a momentum play so you had to roll your speed up the left hand hill and into the T13 chute. As you did so, the Nurburg Castle loomed on the horizon filling your windshield. It served as almost as a reminder, or, cue that you were about to leave the 21st century and roll the clock back 100+ years in world and automotive history.
