Following our Event in Monticello, NY last May, Guardian Angel Motorsports was excited to give back to the track’s surrounding community.
Our gift of $10k to the local Boys & Girls Clubs was put to use in a number of tremendous ways:
- This gift enabled them to send five children to summer day camp who would have never been able to afford it otherwise. For two brothers, it provided them with structure and an opportunity to learn to socialize with other children, which is so important because their development delays have made that a challenge so far.
- Second, it allowed the clubs to take a bus full of children to see the NY Mets. They had received the tickets, but had no way of transporting or feeding the children until this gift came along. These are not children who would had ever seen a live, professional sporting event, and the joy and wonderment the trip brought them will stay with them for a lifetime!
- Third, they utilized $500 from our gift to help host the upcoming “BIG FREE CARNIVAL,” an evening carnival for 500 children where every activity, game, prize and snack was completely free – making it accessible for every child who wants to participate, not just those who could afford a similar experience.
- And lastly, it provided the funding for five new cafeteria-style tables, which will be used in the brand new Clubhouse. These tables cost $900 each, and to comply with the state regulations, they needed 12 of them. These tables are where a whole new generation of Club kids will learn the alphabet, practice their multiplication tables, paint their first watercolor, explode their first baking-soda volcano and talk openly about bullying, peer pressure and hopefully, learn how to rise above them both.
This gift enabled the Boys & Girls Club of Wallkill to positively impact hundreds of children, to give them experiences they wouldn’t have otherwise, and it will continue to impact those children through the new Clubhouse facility. We were so happy to have given this donation to an organization that already does so much!
